Air Abraision

Dentition Assessment

Part of each dental hygiene appointment is detection of dental caries (tooth decay/cavity). Dental decay is a localized destruction of teeth by microorganisms. To detect dental caries, both a careful clinical examination and radiographic examination are necessary. Dental radiographs (x-rays) enable us to identify carious lesions that are not visible clinically.

Diagnodent Laser

At Beyond Dentistry NYC we find that Diagnodent - The Laser Cavity Detection System is a useful adjunct to visual and radiographic examination in detecting dental caries. Even very small lesions are detected at the earliest stage, enabling us to protect and preserve the tooth substance.

Diode laser

Beyond Dentistry NYC now has the ability to attack this bacteria at the microscopic level through the use of our soft tissue laser. It is a non-cutting, high intensity, painless laser that is focused into the periodontal pocket.

Fluoride Treatment

Fluoride treatment reduces the acid solubility of enamel, attracts minerals including calcium and phosphate for remineralization and decreases the rate of transport of minerals out of enamel surface by precipitation of fluoridated hydroxyapatite within the enamel

Intra-Oral Camera

Intraoral camera can aid in diagnosis, allow patients to visualize oral health problems and illustrate options during treatment planning . The camera provides valuable documentation for dental insurance claims. These digital images are excellent for gaining procedure acceptance from insurance companies. The clinical images may be saved and stored in patient’s file

MI Remineralization Therapy

White spots reduction. Remineralization therapy is a fairly simple and inexpensive way to promote tooth structure preservation. MI Paste is a sugar-free crème containing Recaldent ( CPP – ACP) Technology. Recaldent combines calcium and phosphate and a natural milk protein that promotes Remineralization by binding to dental plaque. MI Paste promotes the uptake of fluoride ions that are also in the oral environment.

Oral Cancer Screening

A thorough extraoral and intraoral examination is a routine part of each hygiene appointment. We check for any variances from normal, or any changes from the previous appointment. This Cancer Examination will allow any serious condition to be caught at the earliest possible time when treatment is the most effective.

Periodontal Assessment

Periodontal assessment is an essential part of each hygiene appointment. We determine periodontal status of our patients by assessing loss of attachment (probing depths, recession, MGI), bleeding, furcation involvement, teeth mobility, bone level and gum appearance.

Periodontal Therapy

Beyond Dentistry NYC gathers information needed to make a periodontal diagnosis: medical & dental history, pockets depth, bleeding, teeth mobility, furcation involvement, gum appearance, x-rays evaluation, and presence of deposits above & below gumline. We then develop a unique treatment plan for each patient.
